Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
culinary professional to lead our Stamford location as General
Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for
ensuring the delivery of an exceptional culinary experience to our
customers while fostering a positive work environment.Under the
guidance of our management team, you will take ownership of the
role and drive the success of our location. With the expansion of
our business across four locations in the tristate area and plans
for further growth, this is an exciting opportunity for career
progression.Key Responsibilities
- Partner with management to hire, train, and schedule staff,
including Chef Instructors, Kitchen Assistants, Hosts, and
Dishwashers.
- Oversee food ordering, receiving, and storage, ensuring
compliance with safety practices and maintaining a clean storage
area.
- Collect orders and goods from local purveyors, with access to a
vehicle being an advantage.
- Collaborate with Chef Instructors to meet their expectations
and needs.
- Represent Hudson Table values by engaging in positive gestures
of respect, courtesy, and kindness to guests.
- Provide insightful tours of the location and our offerings to
prospective clients.
- Assist in facilitating private rentals.
- Coordinate and supervise uniform and laundry pickups and
deliveries.
- Manage location printing requirements, including event
information, lesson plans, and recipe packages.
- Empower the team to maintain aesthetic, sanitation, and safety
standards.
- Monitor inventory of operational equipment and submit
replenishment requests.
- Undertake repairs and maintenance issues, or enlist the
assistance of local professionals.
- Manage the location refuse and recycling program.
- Work with the Beverage Director to manage stock and drive
sales.Requirements
- A Culinary degree and 5-10 years of industry experience to Sous
Chef/Kitchen Manager position.
- Extensive purchasing, receiving, and cost control
experience.
- Detail-oriented and able to demonstrate high professional
integrity.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Current food safety accreditation.
- Great people skills and ability to manage a team in a
fast-paced environment.
- Confident and positive communication skills.
- Familiarity and comfort with Google's Suite of programs,
including Sheets, Docs, and Mail.
- Experience with inventory management and e-procurement
platforms.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering
ingredients.
