About Bar LouiseWe're an upscale cocktail bar in Park Slope, Brooklyn, dedicated to providing exceptional hospitality and expertly crafted cocktails, wine, and a tightly curated menu.The Role of the Bar ManagerThe Bar Manager will oversee servers, bartenders, and bussers, as well as the many operations vital to the establishment. This role requires a leader who embodies the group's brand, ensuring all FOH staff deliver the best possible guest experience.Responsibilities

• Build and maintain weekly schedules for FOH staff, posting well in advance.
• Maintain appropriate levels of staff on a per-day and per-shift basis, handling call-outs, vacation requests, and covering last-minute shifts.
• Lead new staff orientations, including onboarding, dress code, required training videos, and scheduling training.
• Establish and maintain training programs specific to various roles within FOH.
• Ensure the bar floor runs smoothly, taking personal responsibility for problem-solving and not pointing out problems.
• Support fellow managers in the presence of staff to ensure a cohesive management team.
• Suggest and implement disciplinary action when necessary, with fellow management team members serving as witnesses.
• Meet regularly with the executive chef and beverage director to ensure FOH staff knows and is trained on menu additions or specials.
• Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the BOH team.
• Manage processes for opening and closing, ensuring standards are met.
• Participate in service by leading through positive example and being proactive to solutions.
• Assist in auditing FOH staff clock ins/outs for submission of payroll data to the bookkeeper at week's end.Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of bartending experience at a high-end, high-volume bar.
  • Management experience, such as head bartender, floor lead, or similar role.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends, generally 2pm-11pm, 5 days a week.
